If anyone had told you going into the playoffs that New York will fall apart due to bad pitching and lose their division series in 4, you'd think they were talking about the Mets.

Funny, that. Though the Mets played the Dodgers, who have the same lack of starting pitching. And unless my Padres can turn it around, they won't run into good pitching until the World Series.

I'm from Detroit, and I don't generally care about baseball (I like hockey) but I've been watching the Tigers games. Go them! The team has, so far, pulled itself out of a craptastical rut and the city is excited. Good for them, and good for Detroit.

congrats Tigers! good luck against the A's indeed - they were the first team to clinch for second round, almost making it look easy by sweeping the on-fire Twins!

same goes for the Cards facing the Mets!

i'd be glued to the set on tuesday evening, except that it's my daughter's birthday and we're going out for dinner. same problem on wednesday, as that's D&D night. oh well, the rest of the series has my attention.

Detroit beat Oakland in game 1, if anyone faces the Cards in the Series, i hope its them. that way who ever wins diserves to win, though i hope its the cards.

i agree with the same, though i'm preferring the tigers - mostly because i'm more familiar with the AL than for any other reason in particular.
