I apologize for not participating much in this one. I fell behind, and it was easier to just let you guys get it in working order than ask for a recap.

Once we get the above construction into the working draft, we just need description, flavor, and tactics.

Actually, shouldn't the alignment be "any evil (same as creator)"? The original monster is CE. Also, we'd agreed on Int 3, not mindless.

Here's some description:

A single page of paper drifts around the room, as if caught in a breeze. But what should be a pleasant floating motion seems purposeful and malign.

I don't remember us agreeing on Int 3, but it makes sense since the original creature was Semi-Intelligent.

It means we have to figure out skills and feats for it. We could make Weapon Finesse its feat, or give it something else.

Should we include an alignment requirement in the construction?

CL 5th; Craft Construct, blink, erase, gust of wind, caster must be evil and at least 5th level; Price — (never sold); Cost 2,100 gp + 156 XP.

I was thinking of describing the sheet of paper starting to fold itself into another shape...

2 ranks each of Spot and Listen, I think, since it's used to guard things (right?). Maybe Awareness or Ability Focus (airblast) for the feat.

Spot and Listen are fine. Indeed, I was thinking about proposing the same ranks.

Don't much care for AF (airblast). They don't seem great combat-monsters, and I'd rather not make it something that only works in one of their alternative forms. If we give it a Combat Feat I'd think Flyby Attack makes more sense, for a "paper-cut in passing" effect.

Alternatively, how about we add a saving throw to the Breath Drain (half damage or negates?), make it Charisma-based, and give it Ability Focus (breath drain).

Half damage for the save to breath drain, and I think the rest sounds good. Add some flavor and tactics, and it's done.

I'll amend the Special Attacks then.

I increased the Charisma to 11 so it didn't have a woeful Charisma penalty on the DC.

Here's a start...

Gohei p'oh, also called paper ghosts, are a minor spirits bound into a piece of paper, that act as servitors and guards for evil arcane spellcasters. They will obey any simple command given them by their creator, fighting to the death if called too. Gohei p'oh are stupid beings who cannot understand any task more complex than guarding a room, delivering a message, or spending a night hiding in a room and then returning home. If ordered to do something beyond their limited mental powers, a gohei p'oh usually indicates its incomprehension and does nothing.

Paper ghosts are weak warriors but make excellent spies and sentries, since they're easy to overlook when lying doggo in their default form - who heeds a stray piece of paper?

These malevolent pieces of origami can fold themselves into difference forms to perform their duties; each form has its own powers. The most common forms are listed below. Some gohei p'oh may be able to assume different or additional forms.

Gohei p'oh cannot speak, but can understand all the languages known to their creator.

A typical gohei p'oh is about 11 inches by 14 inches in sheet form, their weight is negligible.

COMBAT

A gohei p'oh will follow whatever combat tactics its creator orders it to perform. If simply told to "attack", a gohei p'oh usually uses the attack(s) of whatever form it happens to be in. Its default "sheet of paper" form attacks by trying to attach itself to an opponent's face and drain their breath.

Gohei p'oh have enough self-determination to change form during a fight, if that would give it a tactical advantage (provided their orders allows them that flexibility). They prefer to change form when not in melee, since they're unable to fight when refolding themselves.
