Yeah, but tbf, 9 days ago they weren't supposed to have downtime today. This is the last minute rush project due to the implementation change related to 2014+2024 at the same time.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with showing 2014 or 2024 spells. We'll likely never know but I expect to see more podcasts of "ANOTHER D&D CATASTROPHE!!!" with flames in the background popping up by the end of the day.

I always felt that the most likely reason for their foolish original choice of just forcing 2024 spells to overwrite 2014 ones was because it was going to be a PitA to get their system to do otherwise, and they didn't think it was worth it.

This delay only makes that seem more likely.

That would probably happen either way! But yeah, any "fuel for the fire" or is it a pyre? Or is it a witch-burning stake?

I suppose in some ways, the longer this delay goes on for, the closer I'll have the books on my shelves to the time of the Digital release! At least they won't beat me by as much!

(Though I'm not particularly worried about that sort of thing - some retailers get very angry about it - I mostly just shrug.)

Oh, no, sorry to hear that. The owner of the hobby store closest to me called me last Friday (August 30th), and said I could come down and pick one up. I was so thankful that he did that as I have been really enjoying it. He had, by the way, a stack of regular covers and alternate covers on the counter for sale.

The owner of the hobby store closest to me called me last Friday (August 30th), and said I could come down and pick one up. I was so thankful that he did that as I have been really enjoying it. He had, by the way, a stack of regular covers and alternate covers on the counter for sale.

Yeah, they're not supposed to do that. That's "breaking street date". It doesn't particularly bother me, but some people get really upset about that sort of thing, and you could possibly get them in trouble by telling us that. (Though probably not, I doubt anyone will go through the effort of tracking them down).

It frustrates me that my distributor had them last week, but wouldn't give them to anyone because they were worried about that sort of thing, but it happens anyway, and back when Amazon got them "at the same time" as us, they'd often ship them out early, and THEY didn't get in trouble for it!
