Couple of Warlock Questions

Hi guys,

Sorry if these questions are kinda dumb, but I just want to check that I'm reading things correctly.

Invocation duration: I can't see a duration for mwarlock invocations - the only comment I can find is a warlock can dismiss any invocation as a standard action. So, are those that don't have an immediate effect (ie essense and blast shape invocations) permanent until dismissed?

Are the use of invocations unlimited - so a warlock can cast any one invocation of his choice per round until the combat is over?

Is the Maximize Spell-Lke Ability applied to an eldritch blast immediately? Or like a meta-magic feat does it take a full-round? I'm assuming immediate, since it doesn't say anything about it - but that makes it a bit powerful, so I just thought I'd check :)

I think that's it! Thanks!

Edit: okay, most of the durations are stated within the invocation description themselves.

They are SLAs, they last as long as the spell would last by a caster = to your level unless otherwise specified.

Unlimted usuage is the main shtick of the warlock.

No extra time. DO note that there was an errata on eldritch blast. It is normally considered a first level SLA. If you add an essence to your blast, that raises its spell level, often preventing you from using the maximize SLA feat on that round's blast.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks - I just went and checked out the errata. This means (if I am reading it correctly) that a 10th level warlock (for example) couldn't cast a maximized eldritch blast with an eldritch chain essence added to it becasue the eldritch chain is level 4 and the warlock can only maximize up to level 3 (half castel level (5th) minus 2). Am I reading that right? That makes sense to restrict the power.

That is correct.

So, yeah- Invocations can be used whenever, forever. Unlimited times per day, so long as he's got the actions to do it. If it doesn't list a duration, but it emulates a spell, use the spell's duration. If it isn't emulating a spell, and doesn't list a duration, it's on whenever the Warlock wants it to be (like a shape or essence invocation).
