"Whoa! That's never happened before!"

Awesome, I guess the PCs in my game are going to keep fighting kobolds a little longer than expected....

I've already threatened my players with an extensive kobold warren, at the bottom of which they find a crude altar with a single candle, lighting the darkness. As they move in to investigate, the howls of "You no take candle!" echo through the corridor as hundreds of kobolds rush to defend their precious treasure.

It's an empty promise, but it amuses me to no end.

Just in time! I've just run my party through an extended version of the DMG's Kobold Hall, so some variety will be perfect as we begin KotS this week.

These are freaking awesome. The wild mage bodes well for the future, if you ask me. A sense of being able to violate the way magic works if it makes a cool villain or monster is totally needed.

(Ok, one weirdness complaint... A swarm of kobolds is still size small?)

Wow.

Mearls' blog post becomes a Dragon article.

Still, I do love the KVC.

Becomes part of a Dragon article, and it apparently was "tamed" a little bit. ;)

If found it interesting that the Kobold Swarm does not have an Aura, but I think it makes sense for Kobolds. They are not _that_ small.

I thought I was going to be tired of Kobolds (I used them in our groups playtest after the DDXP, and the KotS that I'll run today also contains a lot of them), but these might make me want to use them more... We'll see...
