Creatures By Poll - Monster #1!

ok, moving on to Phase 2, time to make the monster. this first one, unless i misinterpreted things, will be a
Magical Beast with 5-7 Hit Dice. the alignment is yet to be determined, but it will definitely be evil one way or the other. the size is also currently undecided, but will be either Large or Medium-Size. if you'd prefer to wait to see the results of the tie-breakers (i'll just pick one if they come up even) before moving on to the next part, i'll understand. you'll lose nothing by waiting till sunday to get to this, in fact you'll probably gain via wisdom.

so here's what i want you to do next! you will describe your idea of what the monster should be, in one or two sentences or otherwise in 40 words or less (please!). i will choose the best 10, in my opinion, and make another poll out of them (the runners up will be the "Other" option). let me explain how you will do this.

this sentence will be the "concept" for the monster. it's best not to be too detail oriented, as we will detail it as a group. one sentence saying "this thing does this and has this kind of power" is enough. for ideas on Magical Beasts, remember this is a broad category which includes such creatures as displacer beast, unicorn, pegasus, giant eagle, chimera/gorgimera, the tarrasque, cockatrice/pyrolisk, frost worm, kamadan, disenchanter, catoblepas, kraken, dragon horse, lamia, and many more. Some good examples include the following:
"Lamias are evil and cruel creatures that take great pleasure in causing suffering and spreading evil... Most lamias appear as a cross between a stunningly attractive human and a sleek lion." or
"The pegasus is a magnificent winged horse that sometimes serves the cause of good. Though highly prized as aerial steeds, pegasi are wild and shy creatures not easily tamed."
also, make sure to state how many Hit Dice (5, 6, or 7) you think would be appropriate for this evil magical beast.

get it? got it? goooood! so, when you've got a good one (and please, only one submission per person, unless you're really good and sneaky) you can post it here if you want others to see and comment on it, or just e-mail it to kbozman74@yahoo.com. if i use your concept, i will make sure to credit you when/if the monster gets posted on this site, or used in some future product or whatnot.

Edit: this thing is now going to be a Medium-Size creature of Lawful Evil alignment.

The Scylla

Yelping hideously the Scylla is a terrible and frightful beast, that clings to coastal rocks and dwells within seaside caves. Scylla fix their bodies to the rocks but can still strike out with six long necks and snapping jaws each with a triple row of crowded fangs. and also with long tentacles which they dangle in the water seeking prey.
(ooc Scylla are adapted from Greek myth think of it as a monstrous form of tube worm

I'd imagine HD 6 - and give it Frightful Appearance, Improved Grab, Swallow Whole, Amphibious, Tremorsense and Disease (bite). Also I'd make it blind and unable to move onced it has fixed its body in place (offset by cover bonus of living in caves and any natural AC (perhaps a shell)) I'd prefer it large but medium is possible too...

If you go down to the woods today, you won't live to see the surprise.

Yurisi are hideous malformed bears with scaly, green plates on it's back, and elongated Vertebrae stick up from it's back and run all the way down to it's 3 foot tail.

It has a scary awareness, and doesn’t just run on instinct, they form plans, stratagems and make truces with enemies to fight a greater enemy. Once, a Yusria started a war for the sole purpose of wearing down a fleet of ogres it had banded with, and attacked them whilst they were dying.

Let's start this over....

ok, my bad for not explaining myself further.
first of all, this is just to determine the most basic of concepts for the monster. a very brief description (it's 7 feet tall, with green skin, and looks like a wolf), and the most basic idea of what it is and does (this beast likes to eat halflings and shoots lasers from its eyes) is all i want at this point. the rest, we will figure out as we go on. this includes skills, feats, ability scores, and the rest. some of it will be polls, some will be open for group discussion.
and don't name it yet! that'll be another poll, the last thing we decide. i should have explained that, but forgot to do so.
if you can do all that in one sentence, great, but take two if you need it. and no more than 40 words! i can accept longer entries, but i'll have to pare them down to make them suitable.
here, i'll give you an example of what i'm looking for, and i'll explain why i want it like this when we've got some more entries to look at.

"This monster is a four-legged terror that stalks the woods for humanoid prey. It has both canine and feline features, and can stand on all fours and climb trees." This thing should have 6 Hit Dice, in my opinion.

Only one entry? O.K I'll try.

Appears as a cross between a wolf and a crab, is a master of illusions and can breathe both air and water. Spends most of it's life in salt marshes.

is that good?

Like a cross between a bear and an ankleasaurous(sp?) it has 6 leags and is coloured green, it can las under water for extended amounts of time and burrow through a beach.

HD 6-7, burrow and swim speeds.
