D&D (2024) D&D 2024 PHB errata thread +

So I should just accept that every thread will devolve into circular arguments about the same thing over and over ad nauseum?
Unless you make it a + thread then that’s a pretty good bet.
Conjure minor elementals has its own thread. The stealth rules have multiple threads. There are also multiple other threads in which people are discussing various spirit guardians shenanigans.
They do.
Why can't we have just one thread that's a safe haven from all that?
Because no thread is safe from all that unless it’s a + thread.
Why does every thread have to get bogged down in the same few endless arguments?
My guess it’s a universal law of the internet. Akin to gravity in the physical world.

One may also cynically ask, why are you turning the thread into being about this instead of Errata.

I didn't make it a + thread because I didn't think that it applied. It's a bit late for that now.

Well, for one thing, it would appear there isn't any more errata to discuss so people have just gone back to arguing about things that they think should (or shouldn't) receive errata.

I'm fine with that. I started this thread to list all the known errata in one place, since it was all scattered around in the other thread, successfully hiding amongst the numerous posts about the borked stealth rules. But threads like these are just temporary while we wait for an official errata document to come out anyway.

Also, when I started this thread, the other one hadn't yet been converted into a front-page news article.
Ah, I was just making a joke. A little light-hearted poke, perhaps, on the futiliy of a discussion where topics keep getting added to the forbidden list.

But I respect what you are trying to do, even if I don't personally feel that it's necessary (or worth the effort), I absolutely support your right to feel otherwise.

Same. I’d even support the idea of the thread just being about the errata and it being enforceable, but best that we can do is politely ask others to take those discussions to threads made for them.

Blindness/Deafness is listed as Necromancy in D&D Beyond and as Transmutation in the Player's Handbook.

(The spell table in the Cleric & Wizard class on D&D Beyond list it as Transmutation)

I don't know yet if its an error or deliberate errata that omitted some place.
I know they moved a few spell schools around and it was necromancy in 2014.

So my guess is that it's intended to be Transmutation, and Beyond just missed the update.

Currently the Most Evil Spell in D&D:
========================

Fabricate [ Pg 271 PHB.24 ]
Level 4 Transmutation( Wizard )
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

You convert raw materials into products of the same
material.

Creatures and magic items can't be created by
this spell. You also can't use it to create items that
require a high degree of skill -- such as weapons and
armor -- unless you have proficiency with the type of
Artisan's Tools used to craft such objects.

Artisan's Tools:
Cook's Utensils (1 GP) [ Pg 220 PHB.24 ]
Craft: Rations

A cannibal wizard with Fabricate and Cook's Utensils can
now kill anything in the game. As long as the wizard gets
within 120ft and chants for 10 minutes.

That ancient red dragon... poof... dragon heart rations
An annoying quickling..... poof... quickling quiche

------------------------------------------------------

How about a Dwarven Demolition Team
A group of dwarves walk up to a castle wall and begin chanting.
An entire section of a cave/castle/bridge disappears.

That magic item you have... well it just turned into an iron
bar. The spell doesn't say you can't change a creature or
magical item into something useless, it just says you can't
make a creature or magical item; meaning the spell disenchants
magical items since the components can't be magical.

This spell needs an errata.
