that is why we needed to have a base 12 not base 10 numeric system.
We have base 12 in some areas, but it should have been in all.

1. 1d2 (1/2 a d4, used sometimes)

anyway if it got to this point I might turn to a playing card based system - pair of Aces trumps your Red Queens!

There is no advantage to adding extra types of dice, especially since the easy availability of digital dice for whatever impossible number of sides you care to imagine removes even the gimmick value.

Really, there is no reason D&D needs all it's current dice apart from tradition.

If 6e decides to chase DCC's coattails (which would be a very funny thing to happen) I'd just as soon it do so by reducing the superhero character angle and leaning more into weird fantasy, not just by adding more funky dice.

Demonstrate a need - or even a real use - for those additional dice types and I might change my mind.
