Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

D&D Direct, WotC's new video-format announcement show launches today at 9am PDT (5pm BST). If you aren't able to watch it, I'll be updating this article live. Feel free to comment below! • MMO Neverwinter video. Dragonslayer begins June 2022. (I wonder if they'll need a dragonance for that?)
• New D&D actual play video, Legends of the Multiverse. Lots of 80s cartoon style soft rock music. Boo is in it.

They said it though, be weird to understate it. If it's totally wrong and we're looking at 360 or something that's expensive but no longer in actual rip off territory.

The product page also says 64 pages. I just find it odd that the books look like full hardcovers. Seems like a bit of product legerdemain to make it look beefier.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the split books/slipcase, but only 192 pages is disappointing for $70. I would expect at least 256 pages for that price.

The pictures of the Spelljammer books don't look like 64 pages. Maybe thicker pages, or maybe they're digital renderings, but still.

I personally like the format and think it works well for something like Spelljammer. But I'm disappointed in the page count and price.

192 pages unnecessarily split into three books for $20 more than normal and 192 pages was a bad deal at $30.

I'd rather just have a book. Preferably with more than 192 pages. For $20 less. Sell the DMs screen separately if you must

Particularly huge rip off for digital customers and you have zero come-back there, I imagine.

Edit: I would be willing to pay more, personally, if the art was incredible MTG quality stuff but we can see it is not.

My “come-back,” in so far as I need one (which is to say not at all because I’m not trying to impress anyone here), is that Beyond used to pretty frequently drop discount codes usable for a single book here and there. Maybe wait and scoop one of those and get it closer to your desired price point. shrug Or maybe they won’t do that now that they’re merging with WotC and you’ll have to pay the full $50 price.

I don’t know your financial situation and I’m not here to argue with someone who clearly has a grump on and feels they’re being ripped off and wants to grouse about it. I, on the other hand, don’t. I much prefer this format to a single book.

And I buy in both digital and dead tree format with pretty much every major release so I dunno what to tell you, dude.

I mean, Paizo just posted yesterday that they can't even get paper right now (that's a slight exaggeration of what one of them posted on Twitter). Books are going to go up, like it or not.

And I wouldn’t. It’s it wonderful how we can both have our opinions on this and neither of us is “wrong?” We’re just not always going to be happy when a sales decision comes that pleases some of us but not all.
