Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

D&D Direct, WotC's new video-format announcement show launches today at 9am PDT (5pm BST). If you aren't able to watch it, I'll be updating this article live. Feel free to comment below! • New D&D actual play video, Legends of the Multiverse. Lots of 80s cartoon style soft rock music. Boo is in it.

China does impact WotC if we're talking about paper, not printing. The printers in the USA are still sourcing their paper globally - not all books printed in the US are printed on paper from the US.

True enough, and logistics always have knock on effects globally for pricing.

Have you seen the future actual-play show? Legends of the Multiverse (I love that soundtrack) looks like a crossover between D&D and d20 Future. Maybe we could be easter-eggs or winks about other Hasbro's franchises. Is Riddle a "mechalus"?

I just realized that Spelljammer is product that's going to have a cameo for another setting, Planescape. In 5e Spelljammer, you can fly to Sigil easily enough, so Sigil might get somekind of a mention. This feels so weird.

One of the monsters in the free MC PDF is from Dark Sun.

I just realized that Spelljammer is product that's going to have a cameo for another setting, Planescape. In 5e Spelljammer, you can fly to Sigil easily enough, so Sigil might get somekind of a mention. This feels so weird.

I mean barring a ship-sized portal in Sigil itself (which seems extremely unlikely) you could theoretically find a portal to the Outlands in the Astral, but you could never actually fly a ship in the Outlands to Sigil itself (again, going by 2e PS rules) as you can never actually physically get to the Spire itself and magic starts shutting down the closer you get regardless.

I don't know that it matters where the printing happens - we're in the U.S. - it's just that a lot of paper (and the stuff we make paper from) comes from other places.

Not that it makes up for the $20 increase but it includes a DM screen (and maybe a map too). Plus for some it is nice to have separate books. I personally prefer this format, though soft covers would be nice.
