D&D for Breakfast

Its not that simple, but I would agree. He only got her a ring to shut her up. Buty what can I say, he likes getting the Milk for free.

Ah... But the milk ain't free if he had to buy her a ring... :)

*the sound of one hand clapping... trust me. I just came back from India... I know these things.*

In the group I DM for, we usually start at noon on Sundays. Now and then we've done a Sunday Brunch/D&D Session from 9:00 am to around 2:00, but it isn't completely convenient for any of us.

I generally get up at around 5:00 am, but with a noon start time, that means I can do lots more besides shower and dress before the session starts. I can and do go grocery shopping, do a load or two of laundry and maybe even make a treat for my players before 10:00 am. That still gives me plenty of time to get the game table set up, review my notes and surf here a while before the players show up.

And the nice thing about starting early: everyone's still a little hazy, so they're easier to kill in the morning. :)

LOL! I've missed you. Welcome back, by the way. Somehow I expected you to be gone longer.

I wouldn't mind earlier start times, but unfortunately the time that works out the best for me schedule wise is weeknights. So that means rush to the location of the game after work with a 6pm to 6:30pm start time and then play will 10:30pm-ish. If weekends weren't reserved for family I would probably go for a Saturday or Sunday game from 11am to 5pm or so.

We just got in last weekend after 4 months in the Himalayas. We were suppose to be gone longer, but I missed my family more than I expected and Joe's crazy enough to follow me around the world 10 times over. :)

We will be in town for Gen Con Indy (to debut Beast Builder, MG: Forest, and our new line of adventures.... we were definately productive in India :)). After that, I'm not sure where we will be. Really love India, but I also genuinely like my family (I know, I'm nuts....), so it will be a bit of a balancing act until I can convince them to embrace the curry.

Or until we can meet in the middle in Europe.

But enough hijacking.... We will kill more PCs before noon than you do in a lifetime!

We've managed to settle into a Sunday afternoon schedule. With a start time of 1pm (although that usually means starting at 2pm or later until everyone arrives and gets settled), we game until 5-7pm range. Once in awhile a Saturday night game gets thrown in--start at 5:30pm and run until midnight or so. Sat. games always hit me in the nostalgia area but I prefer the Sunday game time of day.

Somehow, in my old age (by which I mean 28,) I've developed into a die-hard "morning-person."

This puts me at odds with other members of my gaming group, who enjoy gaming late into the night- long after my mind is completely fried and I want nothing more than to go to sleep. Recently, I suggested we try 10 am to 2 pm Saturday sessions, and didn't get a very positive reaction.

Am I crazy? Is there anyone else who'd enjoy gaming the most first thing in the morning?

My last group ranged in age from mid-20s to mid-30s. We gamed whenever our schedules allowed. For at least a solid year, there, that meant Sat/Sun mornings [varying from week to week], sometimes as early as 8:30AM. We'd rotate locations, and the host fixed breakfast. It worked great. One of my roommates hated it (she wasn't in the group), but she always found something wrong with everyone and everything [but herself].

Anyway, these days, we're done by 10pm, 10:30 at the latest, because we have to game on a worknight (Sun night).

And, no, i'm not a morning person, never have been. Used to be, when my schedule allowed, i'd game 'til 2-3am, a couple nights a week. That was our standard schedule (~7pm-2am).

Still, given the choice between not gaming, and gaming Sun morning, i'll get my ass out of bed Sun morning.

We used to play at noon.

The older we've gotten, the later it got. First 1:00, then 3:00, then 5:00 and lately 7:00.

I'm starting a new group and we have made the start time 1:00pm :crosses fingers:

I knew a guy in college who ran Call of Cthulhu at 8 AM. They all had classes at 10 and played every day before class for about an hour and a half over breakfast. Not exactly my kind of thing but if they enjoyed it . . .
