D6 Fantasy, anyone played it?

Sleepy Voiced

First Post
I have been curious about this game since I heard it announced. I am a big fan of Star Wars D6, and always thought the system would handle fantasy well.

Anyone here have any experience with this game? Heck, I'd be happy with impressions from anyone who has had a chance to look through it. I found a review on Gamingreport, but it didn't quite have as much detail as I had hoped.

More directly: as a 3.5 DM with some burnout issues and being tired of the D&D paradigm for the present, would this be a good system for good old Sword & Sorcery a la Leiber, Moorcock, CA Smith, etc.? (and yes, I am eagerly anticipating Iron Lore, but this looks more "rules-lite").

Thanks all.

I haven't played it. But back in the day of WEG, I remember their Fantasy attempt. It can work its just different.

Did you check out www.rpg.net for any reviews or www.gamewyrd.com

You might want to look at Warhammer Fantasy RPG. I hear its a blast, especially with the random-ness of character generation.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I completely forgot RPG.Net and Gamewyrd, I'll have to do that.

I was planning on looking at Warhammer one of these days. My interest in D6 Fantasy has to do with my familiarity with the rules from Star Wars. I liked that it was a very fast and straightforward system.

Thanks for the response Jhilahd!
