Darrington Press has announced the first expansion for Daggerheart, which adds four new subclasses, a new domain, and several other new character-building options. At the onset of PAX Unplugged, Darrington Press announced Daggerheart: Hope & Fear, the first expansion for the Daggerheart TTRPG. The new expansion, which will launch in Summer 2026, contains 4 new classes - the Witch, Warlock, Brawler, and Assassin, each of which comes with two subclasses. Also included is the brand new Dread Domain, which is tied to Witch and Warlock classes. There will also be over 130 adversaries and 28 new environments in the books, along with four new Campaign Frame.

A Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition will be released for Daggerheart: Hope & Fear. Both versions come with the book and associated cards, with the deluxe edition featuring a gold foil box, dice, alternate art covers, and a rip pad with various sheets for the game. The Standard Edition (which runs about 200 pages) will retail for just $39.99, while the Deluxe Edition runs for $119.99.

I wonder if they're saving the final refinement pass for the published content. I was actually just reviewing the Assassin today for a hack I'm making and also noticed that it's generally underwhelming in the playtest compared to the Rogue for instance.
I hope so. The update was an improvement but not enough by half.
I keep thinking Bone would fit the Assassin class so much better than Blade.
Agreed. and its abilities just have too much cost alongside too much restriction.

I'm planning an Assassin class for my 40k hack that will be a version of Midnight + Bone, with a Bladedancer and either sniper or poisoner subclass (I don't hate the poisons idea, but the execution is lacking).
Ive actually considered making a poisoner subclass for the artificer.

Speaking of which i wish they would do an invention domain and make an alchemist

Given we’ve already seen 2 new playtest Domains I would be shocked if we don’t get some kind of Engineer class with an Invention Domain soon(ish). Gadgeteer and Alchemist would make great subclasses.

For my part I want to see a dedicated Bladesinger/Hexblade/Swordmage gish class, or barring that at least a new subclass that fits that role.
