OK, been lookin through the book, I'm going to be playing a Guardsman with a Sword/Pistol combo. Fairly straight forward short-range/melee fighter. Reason for being here? I'm thinking Mercenary.

@ruik : you should at least put 2 points in a stat, and I would VERY much advise against not putting any points in ballistic skills, because the combat system is very lethal and not being able to shoot is a huge disadvantage

just checked and no those advances are both 100 a piece

and i was hoping to play a melee arbitrator is all which brings me to a question for you can we sell our starting equipement and if so at what value?

Doc - I think you read the "Characteristic Advances: WS, BS: 200" as 200 each, it's 100 each for 200 total.

So just realized my concept doesn't work without two weapon fighting/Ambidexterity, so I'll be changing weapon load-out for my next update.
