D&D 5E Dark sun Times of change

"The grand vizier! Then this really is something. I don't know how you can stand just waiting out here in the hot sun to find out what they may discover. We have to go." Tarsin takes his leave of the Nibenay Templars, gesturing to Chick that it's time to go.

Kim eyed Tarsin with a hard look when he returned to them. “Have fun trading stories of torturing women and children with your old Templar friend?” she asked him coolly. She might not be trying to kill him right now, but it didn’t mean she had to like him. He would eventually slide into his old ways, and then she would relish caving in his skull with her maul.

“Let’s get down there before the sun rises,” she told the others, turning to grab her gear from the makeshift sled they had finally put together to get everything here.

As the party climb down into the hole the Muls are unpacking camp, they shout after you "Better find some food down there"

The descending the sinkhole is easy given the rope that someone has left from a earlier descent. The dim light from one of the moons filters through the hole in the cavern ceiling revealing a small cavern complex the sound of running water echoes around in the distance. The cave complex carries on looking just like any other cave totally not worth the expense to explore. A further hole can be found at the end of this cavern a rope descends down and the sound of the water echoes from below.

Chick-Chick had no hesitation about going into a hole in the ground, but the possibility of a wet hole in the ground gives him pause. He gesticulates a request to shine a light down the hole or for someone to make sure he won't be landing in a pool.

(Thri-Kreen drown easily and often get very sick if they wind up falling in water).

Tarsin asks, "Does anyone have a lantern? Or at least a torch?" Assuming someone does, I cast Mage Hand and use that to hold the lantern (preferably - It's more civilized than a torch) so I can climb the rope at the same time.

Inside the first cavern he turns to Kanna and speaks more quietly - not attempting to hide the conversation from anyone in the party, just not broadcasting it either. "Let's be as quick as we can through here. We're not the first to arrive but we should try to be the first to leave. Otherwise we may find these ropes pulled up before we get back to them. And we should be ready to pull or cut the ropes behind us if need be."

To Kimet's comment, once they are safely out of earshot, Tarsin replies, "Those idiots? Let them bake in that stupid armor. I hope we return before the rest of their envoy so we can slay them and take their provisions for the return journey." He gives her a smile and a look that could be condescending, or conspiratorial, or both. No doubt it makes her templar-hating skin crawl. She can't tell if that's intentional.

Akylanthes slides down the rope and inside the cavern asks his companions, "I could go scout ahead, I don't need any light. What do you think?"

“We’ll do our best,” Kimet told the muls. She doubted there would be any food. They might need to take it from some other expedition already down there. She did have some rations that would last a bit.

“Water,” Kimet said, listening as her boots hit the stone floor of the cavern after she descended the rope. “That is promising. It is clear, Chick-Chick,” she assured the thri-kreen.

“I have torches,” Kimet told Tarsin. At least he had the stones to want to kill those Templar’s above. Kimet would be only too happy to do so.

Kimet pulled out a torch and her tinderbox, lighting it and handing it to Tarsin. She needed her hands free. She unslung the maul from her back.

“Take a look around,” she told Akylanthes. She went over to the hole with the rope to peer down, tossing a rock to listen to just how far down it went.

The rock splashes after a few seconds it doesn't seem a long drop. As the magic hand floats the torch down the source of the sound. A rather fast flowing river except it is a rusty brown colour and looks rather thick for water. Either side of the "river" are two long platforms made of a smooth rock.
