“We’ll do our best,” Kimet told the muls. She doubted there would be any food. They might need to take it from some other expedition already down there. She did have some rations that would last a bit.
“Water,” Kimet said, listening as her boots hit the stone floor of the cavern after she descended the rope. “That is promising. It is clear, Chick-Chick,” she assured the thri-kreen.
“I have torches,” Kimet told Tarsin. At least he had the stones to want to kill those Templar’s above. Kimet would be only too happy to do so.
Kimet pulled out a torch and her tinderbox, lighting it and handing it to Tarsin. She needed her hands free. She unslung the maul from her back.
“Take a look around,” she told Akylanthes. She went over to the hole with the rope to peer down, tossing a rock to listen to just how far down it went.
