Death in Freeport 3.5 Re-Recruiting (Closed)

A secret cultist would be OK and pseudonatural fits right into the Cosmic Horror style and I am familiar with them from Tome and Blood, but it is a +4 LA template (3.5 update booklet page 26 for the Manual of the Planes version with the stats you quote above from crystal keep).

+4 LA is an option under my character creation options and has no impact on xp earned but it does mean only an 8 point buy and being restricted to NPC class choices such as adept or cultist.
+4 seems a bit tough, for what it does on levels 1-4.

I consider know

spellwarped +3 or just being plain human

With an appropriate story I can be fine with spellwarped.

Please keep giving references to where the noncore materials you are asking about are from, it is quite helpful.

Doghead is dropping most of his pbp games and Azgulor expressed interest in rejoining this one so I modified the original post to show the party composition. Doghead's monk swordsman is currently with the party but won't be for long and Azgulor's pirate will be rejoining the party.

Okay, I will go with single classed human cloistered cleric:

Code:
Str 10 - 2
Dex 14 - 6
Con 14 - 6
Int 14 - 6
Wis 16 - 10
Cha 10 - 2

Domains: Knowledge, Travel, Dream

Will add the rest tomorrow. Loks like you got enough players to continue :)
I'm looking forward to play this not quite normal cleric.

Hm

Dex 14 - 6
Con 14 - 6
Int 12 - 4
Wis 14 - 6
Cha 8 - 0

and either Warrior or Adept gestalt (is there also
a NPC class only gestalt option?)

or

Str 10 - 2
Dex 14 - 6
Con 15 - 8
Int 12 - 4
Wis 16 - 10
Cha 10 - 2

single class cleric?

That is difficult...

I think an 32p Expert or Warrior/Adept would be interesting, too.

If you are really grooving on a gestalt NPC class combo I'd consider giving them the same default PB as a single PH class character.

For Adept I'd make them a spontaneous caster like I require clerics and druids to be. I'd have to come up with a chart for spells known though. Bard, sorcerer, and assassins each are possible models but have oddities in their progressions.

So you need the services of a cleric it looks like? Hmmm.... I was also thinking a swashbuckler would be great also....

The group currently lacks a healer of any type (cleric, druid, I also make cure spells available on the arcane lists so wizard or sorcerer works too for that niche).

Swashbuckler (whether from CW, a gestalt fighter rogue, variant rogue or fighter, unfettered from Arcana Evolved, etc.) types fit in well in the setting.

Still looking for players? I am definitely interested. Possibly a Swashbuckler or Rogue. Maybe even an NPC class. I've often thought about playing an Aristocrat.

Yes, I'm still looking. :)

Aristocrat is a viable choice. Freeport's upper class are mostly established mercantile families from Old City, the center of Freeport, and they can fit the aristocrat class well for a background. Only the Sea Lord and his family have an actual hereditary noble type of a status, the Captain's Council is not hereditary (though most positions are for life). There are also displaced nobles from the Northern Empire due to the ongoing civil and religious strife there.
