We made this last night... Me, Varius, Valicor & Kreynolds

Here is the new feat:
-----------------------------------
Decisive Strike

Prerequisites: Proficient with weapon, weapon focus (with chosen weapon), Improved Critical (with chosen weapon), Power Attack, base attack bonus 12

You have become so skilled with your weapon, you are able to hit harder then the average person using that weapon.

Benifit: You critical multiplier is increased by +1, for the choosen weapon only.

special: this feat may be taken multiple times, but using a different weapon each time.
-----------------------------------

We made this because we didn't find a way to get my scythe from x4 to x5

So what you think?

BROKEN!

Nah, just kidding. This is a simple, straightforward feat with very good requirements and a perfectly logical design. I give it the Anabstercorian Seal of Game-A-Delic Approval.

I don't think you need Power Attack in there as a Pre-req though. Other than that it looks good. This almost sounds like it would be better as a PrC skill rather than a feat.

I'm not sure if you are concerned about this or not, but in R&R there's a spell called Assassin's Senses. It increases the threat range and the multiplier. That combined with this feat makes for an obviously deadly combo.

Adding Power atatck, was a reflection of the seer force that goes with the weapon. Also it keeps you in themse with the Power critical feat from MotW.

First of all, R&R totally sucked, so I don't use anything from that book whatsoever, mostly because I don't own it and refuse to pay for it, but that's beside the point.

Secondly, the crit increases wouldn't stack. Why not, you ask? Because they are the same types of bonuses. Keen also doesn't stack with the Keen Edge spell. :)

It's good for weapons with small threat ranges and large multipliers. However I'm scared of anyone taking this on a falchion. (12-20/x3) crit is too much.

Here's a breakdown of the damage boosts it gives, assuming a keen weapon.

threat range of 20: increases average damage by 15% of base
threat range of 19-20: increases average damage by 30% of base
threat range of 18-20: increases average damage by 45% of base

On weapons with a x4 crit multiplier it is equivalent to improved critical. However on 18-20 weapon it is three times as good.

I'd only allow it on weapons with a threat range of 20 and a multiplier of x3 or higher.

What a worthless feat. You should probably allow the character to pick 3 or 4 weapons at a time to apply it to. Otherwise, there's no point in wasting the feat.
