The second question makes no sense. Have someone else scribe a scroll for you?
Take a look over at Anviss' discussion with Shoot in the Tavern thread. Anviss has proposed to craft the scroll with Shoot providing the spell. You can see our various views on the issue starting about here.

Well, two or more people can work together to make a magic item, right? One guy casts the spells, another provides the gold, everyone chips in on craft points, etc. Well, consider a joint effort to make a scroll...one guy buys the inks, another casts the spells, both contribute craft points, etc. The guy buying the inks doesn't even have to be a caster, does he?
It depends on the interpretation of "help with prerequisites." As I stated in my OCC posts, helping create wonderous items is clearly cooperable. Scrolls, not so clear to me. Can any 1st level wizard scribe a 9th level spell? With Patlin's interpretation, yes (as long as there is an appropriate caster assisting). In fact, by Patlin's interpretation, a wizard could scribe a spell via someone who has the appropriate spell-like ability (which is allowable for wonderous items).

Normaly, you can get asssistance from a caster to craft a magic item. In the case of a scroll it might be a bit different now that I think about it, but I would rule that at the very least, with an artifacer, it would add to the UMD.

I'd probably rule YES for an artifacer, and probably no for any other class.

I should do more research though.

As I said, using someone else to provide the spells is fine with me in most cases (or having someone use a spell-like ability as well); this is well discussed in the FAQ and elsewhere. It gets wonky with scrolls, potions, and wands (in order of decreasing wonkiness) in my mind. Probably a bit from my 2.0 hertiage, but scribing a scroll of a spell you do not know seems off.

It was approved in the initial organization.

When was the LEW Craft system approved? I never approved it, nor saw an approval by another Judge (I would have voted NO).

It wasn't. We just postponed discussion on it after deciding it wasn't important for setting up the character creation rules. Last thing I remember was that you guys wanted a compromise between Craft points and Time units.

Well, our stand on crafting better be decided soon or we need to put the kabob on such activities until then (i.e., the plan going on in the Tavern thread).
