D&D General Developing a Homebrew Pantheon: Another word for "Saint?"

As saint is one of the words I use to describe gods in my D&D games (a translation from JRR Tolkien's Ainu), I would go with hallows or some construction like the hallowed, or if you want to coin a term, holies.

Yazata means “[an entity] worthy of worship/veneration” in Avestan. I’ve used it in one of my homebrew religions before. It could be an interesting title or epithet for one of your Paragons.

I have always been a fan of keeping things simple since the players will just keep asking you and do not care as much as you do. Saint is a word they know and understand. It works, like the days of the week.

I would use something close that still fits. I was first thinking solar, and just change the monster to fit the divine and have them grant spells. Semi works as short for semi-god and can be even broken into male and female if you want with semi and sema. They are close to saint and not as big a leap for players.

You could also have the first saint's name be taken for all of them. Cesar was a man's name before it became another word for emperor. This could be a place to make fetch happen.

Something like a saint but not. There's "Beatus"/"Beati"; that's like a step below a saint.

Or more a more vedic, less christian flavor you could have a bodhisattva

Anyway, one of the aspects of the 13 Gods, is that they are broad and abstract beings who have a range of servants, most of whom are mortals who were raised up into celestial service for their great acts in life. While clerics (and paladins) may directly venerate one of the 13 gods, they are just as likely to more directly serve one of those lesser beings (many of which have connections to particular locales and/or Peoples). For now I am calling them "Saints" and they are a kind of demi-god - but I would love a better term than "saint" or "demi-god" and I definitely don't like "angel."

In terms of the primary objects of worship being the intermediaries between the gods and the world rather than the true gods themselves, Those sound like the Loa or Orishas of the various small faiths derived from the religion of the Yoruba people of Africa

They also sound a lot like the Maiar from The Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings
