*We* are without knowledge of bad puns; therefore denied.
Pffft. Mordenkainen's Moratorium on Murkiness -- relied on everywhere by all dubious (rules)lawyers -- necessitates the use of at least one "clearly" in that denial. As in, as the evidence CLEARLY reveals, opposing counsel's denial of his poor punnery is without merit.

I'm also surprised that so many people like the d8. I think it must be because longswords and longbows use d8s for damage?

Personally, I think the d10 is under appreciated. It may not be physically appealing, but the utility is tremendous. Not only can you roll 1d10, 2d10, 3d10 etc., you can also roll d100, d1000, d10,000, heck even d1,000,000 if you need to! Plus a simple 1-10 scale is very easy to grasp, so rolls like "1d10x40 gp" you can pretty quickly calculate the min and max values.

It seems to be largely forgotten that around 456 BC, Cleriphas of Threbes devised a foolproof way of determining which dice were most favoured by the gods.

The method goes like this: empty your dice bag on the table and discard any dice that fall as 1's. They are clearly unlucky. Gather up the rest, put them back in the bag and do it again. Keep doing it until there is only one left. Whatever die is the winner is the one the gods favour.

Beware, though, if all of your dice come up as 1's at the same time. This indicates that the gods are angry and you are doomed to wander through airport lounges for all eternity. Nobody wants that.

While I appreciate the point, The Edict of the Great God Statisticus has warned that such a method, in aggregate, will naturally prefer the d20.

Which makes me think you are one of those BIG DIE propagandists.

Unless, of course, you are one of those people that has a d100. In which case, you should be doomed to wander airport lounges for all eternity.

Ah, Loki 13, you are a mouthpiece of the gods of chaos, are you not? Confess! We can be merciful.

Statistics claims that, on average, we will get average results. But how often, when rolling your d4, have you rolled a natural 2½? Or rolled 10½ on 3d6? Admit it! Never! Statistics is bogus! The average roll never happens.

:D
