My regular campaign misses a couple of weeks, but my gaming actually increases a lot this time of year. A few years ago we started a mini-convention in honor of a friend who moved away. He came back for the first three or four, but even when he does not make it we keep the thing going. The convention runs from Dec. 26th through Jan 1st. You could game 12 to 14 hours every day with the schedule we have set this year.

Several guys in the area take a couple of vacation days from work to run extra games. Not bad for a bunch of old family guys!

This year, it wasn't a big one. In previous years, we've missed the entire month of December and part of January because of conflicts in schedules (and because half of the players worked together in a mom-n-pop computer store that was running at high gear during Christmas). This year, we're only missing the last two weeks of the year, mostly because of me and one other guy; our companies are doing major renovations that are taking up lots of time.

Yes, but part of it is our fault. I run two D&D games, one every other Saturday night and one every Sunday. We always used to simply "take off" the last two weeks in December to let folks schedule their family things then. But this year my wife and I needed the extra time and break, so we declared December as no-gaming month.

Still, it's interesting to note my Sunday group will be sleeping over in two weeks, and we'll start our Eberron campaign 9am on New Year's Day! Whee! :)

*Shrug* Our group meets Monday evenings. The only Monday we're missing is Christmas Day. We're playing on New Years Day.

It will be a nice break for me....I work for a major toy company and the week before and during Xmas and the first two weeks in January are 60-65 hour weeks of nonstop craziness.

SO I have to game..either I have meaningful roleplay opportunities and get to kill something one night during the week at D&D...or I have meaningful roleplay opportunities and then have to kill someone at work. I think D&D is preferable.

Yes. My weekly game has been nuked into a bi-montly game. It's not just the holidays. One guy has a baby coming end of December. Another guy has school and work-related stuff. And my in-laws camped out at my house for like a week here this month.

So no gaming in a long time. It's a shame, too. We just started a sweet Savage Worlds 50 Fathoms campaign.

It annialated our game! We couldn't game last Saturday due to work and a player getting grounded. I am leaving for Oklahoma (Blargh) for two weeks. I'm goign to try and do a game on Wednesday, but weekday games never had much luck with us. Since Im going to be in the car a lot I managed to get a few WotC books (DMG2/PHB2) to read.

No. We're playing on Christmas morning, in fact. One player said he couldn't make it, mumbled something about "time with his family," and I told him he was no longer welcome to the table.
