[sblock=OOC]You must know a spell before you can cast it. Unless you want to open yourself up to the unknown forces of the universe and see what happens. Or you can quest to find a spell or source of power when you have the time... But, no, no casting a spell without it being on your list of spells known.[/sblock]

Alois spoke up, "I think we should get out of here. This place is creepy." It was unclear whether the big man meant the altar room they were presently in, or the burial tomb as a whole.

Lizt handed the bear cape and skull helm to Hank. "I don't want 'em. Here you go." She turned to Gratien. "You look a little better. Let's go check out the other stairs we saw, yes?"

OOC: We came down a set of stairs to get to this altar room. Alois had a look around down here, and I don't think he saw anything. How 'bout we head back up the stairs and select another set of stairs to go down?

OOC: sonds good to me

Hank looks at the cloak and helm and considers who the best warrior type to use it. Certainly not him, anyway!

Tender already has a pretty nice set of armor and shield, so he seems not so interested. "I agree, let's get on out of here and rest up."

Kurl could carry the cloak and helmet, and probably look intimidating doing so with his half-crazed eyes, but the outfit would likely upset his swamp-loving god and Kurl is dangerous to himself in a melee fight. "I, too, tire of this place and its horrible surprises."

Boral is a bit sturdier, but feels more comfortable with his magic then with armor. "Yes, to leave and lick our wounds for another day."

Alois spoke up, "The garment looks warm and I think it will fit. Here, I'll try them on."

The large human put down his polearm and donned both the skull helm and cloak. The helm hung low over his brow, making the gleam of his closely set brown eyes marked in the flickering torch light. "How do I look? Fierce?"

The bear cloak settles on Alois' shoulders and the large, fanged, bear skull nearly hides his face giving him a menacing aspect in the torch-lit chamber. For Alois, the cloak fits like it was made for him clearly designed for someone with a warrior's build. Only Alois or Tender have the muscular bulk to wear it without it hindering them.

Leaving the chamber of the cave bear behind the group can go to the other stairs and descend. The staircase curves around and ends in a small, square room. The floor has heavy bronze spears embedded in it and the ceiling opens up into a wide circular slope. It doesn't take much more than a moment to realize that they stand at the bottom of the pit room just inside the sealed entrance that they were unable to open and were forced to find alternative entrance.

Close examination reveals no other exits from the confines of the pit but there is a pool of dried blood on the floor. Not far away lies a pair of daggers with blood on the blades.

Alois left on the cloak and the helm. He was grateful for the warmth.

Lizt stepped into the bottom of the pit trap. She walked over to the daggers and bent down to look at them, then picked one of them up.
