Doom of the Savage Kings

Gratien grimaced in frustration. He misliked missing with his bow. He turned around to say something to Kurl, then felt the air go from his lungs at the sight of Lizt and Alois. A soft "oh" of surprise whooshed from the Elf's lips.

Gratien knelt by Lizt. He checked the extent of her injury, and looked for signs she might still be alive. He looked over at Kurl, who was standing beside Alois. "Is she dead?"

"Not yet, but soon. She's going to need some healing now."

He mumbles angrily to himself as he attempts to heal Lizt.

"Good work, Tender. I think we'll have to sneak into town to avoid trouble," Boral says.

Healing failed. Only the god's own luck could save Alois and Lizt now...

GM: Ready for the last ditch effort. CB, a luck check (1d20, under their luck score) could save Alois and/or Lizt. Then we'll be ready to move on to the final battle.

OOC: Alois's Luck score is 10, so I think that's a +0 modifier. Lizt's Luck score is 14. I've used a +2 modifier for her, but I'm not sure DCC scales modifiers the same as 5e. You'll let me know if I'm wrong?

Gratien offered, "They shouldn't turn into ghouls. Ghouls didn't kill them. Men did." The Elf looked disgusted at the idea than men were so barbaric as to slay one another without just provocation.

Alois, sadly, has moved on to whatever afterlife exists.

Lizt, attended by Kurl and Gratien, takes a deep, gulping breath and comes to consciousness.

With attentions focused elsewhere, the surviving huntsmen make good their escape.

[sblock=OOC]No, that +2 modifier is incorrect. The right modifier is listed under question 6, here.

Lizt survives: she recovers to 1 hit point, is groggy for the next hour (-4 penalty to all rolls), and loses 1 point of STR permanently due to the trauma of her wound.[/sblock]

Lizt sat up and drew breath. Her hair was in disarray, and she had a wound that oozed blood, but she was alive. Wild eyes took in the scene around her, and fell on the still form of Alois. "No!" Lizt gasped, then doubled over. It hurt to breathe. She feebly stood up, accepting Kurl's help. "My thanks."

Gratien stood by. He looked around at the group. "What now, friends?"
