Manachan is somber as the group enters the labyrinth and begins making their way down. The fungus, while a little disconcerting, doesn't cause him much hesitation. He receives Edmond's words with some relief; though he's been friends with the man for years, it's nice to know that the stress of the recent events has not eroded his sense of morality.​

Ignatius nods his approval. Since no one else seems to be intent on searching for magical signs, the ifrit weaves the magic that lets him extend his sense to the eldritch and has a look at the groups immediate surrounding.

Ignatius sees nothing magical in the immediate surroundings, so the group pass through the fungus "garden". The varied fungi seem harmless enough, at least for prudent adventurers who don't needlessly poke and pry, and the group make it round to the rope bridge, which slopes down to a lower ledge at the far end. From that ledge, a second rope bridge leads off and further down. There is a small door on the back of the ledge.
 

Mhairi breathed out noisily. "Is it just me, or is this place making you guys nervous as well? It gives me the creeps!"

Squatting in front of the door as she was speaking, she continues, "Give me a minute with this door. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'd rather be sure..." And, with that, begins checking the door handle, the hinges, coaming, lintel and all the other bits of door that could hold traps for the unwary.

Ignatius nods as he looks around for some loose gravel to ensorcel with a light spell. The first one he find he lights up and tosses into the chasm below the second bridge. He pockets a few others that he finds.
 

Mhairi finds no traps on the door, but it is locked. Manachan drops his lighted pebble into the depths below. It drops with a "plunk" into water below, about 50 ft., and sits somewhere below the surface, illuminating the cave with an eerie rippling light. As it falls, it shows that the next rope bridge leads to a ledge about halfway down, with a tunnel leading off from it. A thrid rope bridge descends to ground level, and there are some double doors down there, and a jetty in the pool.

Mhairi cleared her throat a little as she removed her backpack and fished out a small silk bag. "Door's locked," was all she said, as she started retrieving various slender pieces of wood and metal, before putting them to use.
