Drafting

I was reading over the drafting mechanics, and I wanted to make one suggestion. We roll the dice to determine the pick order of the figure/card pairs. I suggest that the order goes in what we call "draft order", which we use in fantasy baseball. Basically it means that the picks don't wrap back around to the one who started, but instead works it's way back to the starter. This allows the person who goes last, a chance to get the pick they want since they won't go last every time. For example, the current draft would go in this order (assuming 6 players) : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, ...
What I am suggesting is this : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3, ...

Didn't hear any other comments from folks on this but I like it so I've changed the draft rules accordingly.

I did an overhaul of the draft rules this morning to clean up the organization and also reflect current thoughts on the draft.

Significant changes:
  • Added a 3rd card type: the bonus card. This card provides a bonus if you select a particular figure. The bonus will range from a -1 ECL (the best) to some feats and skills. It is intended to provide another factor when considered figuring selections.
  • used the draft order you suggested above.
I'm starting work on the bonus and suit cards now and should get a first set of these posted this week.

I was reading over the draft rules and something caught my eye that I'd never considered before. When th trading takes place, I had originally expected that you'd only be trading suit cards, but the implication in the rules is that you can also trade "card sets." Is my read, correct (ie we can trade figures as well as cards)?

I've always intended that you trade card sets. I'll look over the text and see if I can make this more clear. Probably just put something in large, red font saying "Do not separate the sets!":D

Also, once I have all the cards worked up, I'll do an example. I want the example to reference the actual card pictures (should make it clearer) so I can't do that until I finished the cards; probably this week. I've got the graphics together for the cards and am on a roll.
