Is it just me or does it seem like nothing more than a Marketing Gimick for Dragon #300 and Dungeon #95 to have sealed sections of the magazine marked 'Mature Readers Only'? It's not like its going to keep any 13 year old from reading the material or anything.
I'd say its about as effective as dear old Dad taking his son into the Parents Bedroom, showing him exactly where Dad hides his playboys, and then not expecting the kid to not break them out and drool over them when Mom or Dad isn't around.
If anything it comes off as a really cheezy marketing ploy in trying to try and convince people that "hey man, Book of Vile Darkness is going to be the $#^%!!!, but we arn't politically incorrect or anything lilke that, ya'll. We be putting our super pimp warnings on it so Little Johnny doesn't start thinking about opening up his own slave drive business or making his dog a sacrifice to Boobloodupoop"
Are they doing it to prevent the religious right from labeling D&D satans game? Anyone who considers D&D satans game certainly arn't going to be won over by a "sealed off" section of the magazine and some warning label marked 'Mature Readers'. That all but assures that the 12 and 13 year olds will be opening that puppy up in anticipation.
What do the rest of you think?
