Legend
The party finds a Glowing Portal, beyond lies a magical mansion. Beautiful, comfortable, and unexpectedly, Safe. There is food, safe and wholesome, clean safe beds, and unseen servants that attend to their needs.

There is no gotcha here. The party spends a fine comfortable night.

In the morning, when they leave, they have no idea where they are. The door has moved dozens of miles in a random direction while the party slept.

Living Modenkainen's Magnificent Mansion.
For bonus confusion effects, the spell could learn to camouflage itself by standing in actual doorways.

And for more sinister applications, it could be trained or symbiotically working with some malevolent being. The PCs step into a well-appointed abandoned mansion in the evening, and next morning find themselves emerging from a remote hovel, to meet a trio of hags who are just getting ready to cook breakfast.
