Makes sense since de-buffing in the middle of combat is a pain in the butt to re-calculate. What I liked the most about these critters is how their special abilities directly affect the environment. This is something that I really like in 4e monsters.

About the Balhannoth thingy... is that miniature actually finished? It seems to lack detail (the sweatshop kids slathered some grey paint on) and the ends of the tentacles look simply unpainted.
