Hunter Brightwood

Hunter smiled as he shook off the chill and his nerves. “I should be all right, but I definitely will take any help that is offered.”

Hunter quietly nodded towards Corwin.

"That's good of you, Corwin," Shara says with an appreciative look at the rogue. "I hope things stay quiet for you both, but I'll be ready if they don't."

With that, she heads back to the lower house to try and get back to sleep.

A look of clear disappoint crosses Lucious face. He turns back to the homestead and heads back saying, "Well since there's no glory to be had I shall return to my bed. Besides, it's getting cold out here." scratching his exposed butt cheeks as he heads inside.

Those not on watch returned to their sleeping beds as the rest of the night passed. The morning broke with thick clouds hanging low and the light cold rain still falling. Fog and mist clung to the lowlands, causing the hills to look like islands over a grey sea. The homesteads had awoken early to lead their cattle out for grazing as the rancher's wife and two young children dropped off hot porridge and warm black bread for the heroes breakfast.

"So what are yer plans for this day, I wonder" the matronly woman asks you all.

"So what are yer plans for this day, I wonder" asked the rancher’s wife. ”I’d like to find where the goblins are working from.” replied Magen, tucking into breakfast. ”It might be worth trying to track that wolf from last night, though I’d be wary of that leading to a trap. I think it’s safe to assume they are on their guard now, so likely grouped together. There is not much we can do with just speculation and guessing, so I would recommend scouting out any other homesteads if we can’t track that wolf.”

The matron thinks for a second and says "My husband keeps a couple of hunting dogs here iffin' ye want I reckon they might be ables to follow any of them fresh wolf scent... that is iffin' the rain didn't a wash their trail all aways... iffin' ye wants I'll go fetch em."

As she blinks the sleep from her eyes, Shara is thankful to awaken to a peaceful morning rather than a fight in the dark. She sits up and stretches, sore from a night spent in armor, then puts on her cloak and slips out into the rain. She preferred to be outside with the sun when she prayed, even if she rarely saw it in these rainy lands.

When she finishes, she steps back inside and joins the others for breakfast, greeting them with a smile. When Magen mentions wanting to track the wolf, she speaks up. "I think you're right, Magen," she says between bites of porridge.

"That would be most helpful." Magen says, his enthusiasm obvious. "We'd best get going before the rain completely destroys the trail."
