Editable Character sheets for homebrew/house rule heavy games, where to find?

Maybe we can threadjack this into a "If you're going to eat your character sheet when your character dies, what kind of paper is the best?" hehee. My vote: no cardstock

I misread it as well.

And cardstock has good fiber and would be more filling then just paper. I'd be more concerned with the ink used, that may not be healthy.

Perhaps you could jury-rig those ink-jet refill cartridges with food coloring.

There's a paper available at bakery supply stores that is totally edible. It's what they use to screen images of cartoon characters onto cakes. You could even load up inkjet printer carts with food dye, and print right to it, then eat it.

pretty tasteless, but better than wood pulp.

For what it's worth, my new favorite way to stat up characters for D&D is to use a word processor. Specifically, I use writely.com (now google docs) so that I can work on it while I'm at school and bored, but any word processor should work.

I like it because it allows me to be as verbose and specific as I want to be. I can tailor it to any kind of character, whether I want to make a martial adept, a psion, or a warlock and stat them up exactly as they should be instead of trying to shimmy them into a sheet that wasn't made for them. For example, here's a sample of some things from a level 17 psion I was working on:

HP: 154 [17d4 + 102 (Con) + 10 (Feat)]

Power Points: 215 = 147 (Base) + 68 (Ability)

AC: 31 = 10 +5 (Armor) + 3 (Dex) + 9 (Exalted) + 2 (Deflection) + 2 (Natural Armor) Touch: 15 FF: 28

Empower Power (XPH 46): Expend psionic focus and pay two extra PP to empower a power. All variable numeric effects (damage/healing) is multiplied by 1.5.

Expanded Knowledge (XPH 46): Gain extra power known as long as level is at least two lower than highest you can cast.

Holy Radiance (BoED 44): At will as free action, double radiance of Nimbus of Light (bright to 10 feet, shadowy to 20 feet). Undead within 10 feet take 1d4 damage per round.

I even have a second file that has all the background minutiae that could be relevant, but probably won't after I'm done actually making the character. For example...

Back in the good (bad?) old days when we used to have "party wars" and everybody had secrets from the other players, we used to pass tiny notes to the DM so the other players couldn't read them.

After one guy took to scouring the bins to read peoples notes from previous sessions, some players started eating their notes after the DM had read them!
