Eldritch Master PrC and epic levels

Hello!!

The Eldritch Master PrC is made by Monte Cook and can be found in a Dragon Magazine #280.

The problem that I see in it is that you get "Spell slots" and new "Spells known" as a sorcerer. The Spell slots can be choosen from one spell level higher then any previously spellls known.

Eldritch Master = EM

How does spells per day and spells known work after lvl 20.

1 .A lvl 22 sorcerer takes 1 lvl of sorcerer. Then he will not get any
more spells known or spells per day.

2. A lvl 20 sorcerer takes 1 lvl of EM. Does he get any more spell slots
to add to his number of spells per day and/or spells known??

3. A lvl 17 sorcerer take 2 lvl's of EM and 1 lvl of sorcerer. What
happens when he takes 1 lvl (his 21th) of sorcerer, does he get any more
spell slots to add to his number of spells per day and/or spells known??

4. A lvl 17 sorcerer take 2 lvl's of EM and 1 lvl of sorcerer. What
happens when he takes 1 lvl (his 21th) of EM, does he get any more spell
slots to add to his number of spells per day and/or spells known??


My thoughts about this is:

1. He will not get any more spells known or spells per day.

2. I would say no more spells per day and no more spells known. Here I
could make a compromiss to allow no more spells per day, but more spells
known, as that is abit what eldrich master is about.

3. One idea is that he is allowd to choose between keeping the spell
slots given by the EM and not get any more from the sorcerer at lvl 21
or remove the spell slots and get the extra spells per day and spells
known up to lvl 20 of sorcerer.

4. I would say no more spells per day and no more spells known. Here I
could make a compromiss to allow no more spells per day, but more spells
known, as that is abit what eldrich master is about.

*Another way to solve this is to say "The EM PrC with spell slots is to
far away from the normal concept that you can remove that class and
advance another instead".

It does not work to get spell level > 9 (that are "epic" slots)

1. No sk/spd
2. Yes sk. No spd
3. Yes sk/spd as a level 19 sorcerer
4. Yes sk. No spd (he cannot apply Spell Boost to get level 10 spells)

Thats all correct, except for the spell boost. I'd just treat it as ISC.

EM is the monster PrC for Epic Sorcerors. I'd be suprised if every SOR didnt jump for this class.

The better question is what does Spell Boost do when you get spells of that level?

Probably SB should not allow spell level > 9, even if you qualify at level 21 (sorcerer 18, EM 3).

It the same for ITCK, which introduced a feat for Psions, Trascend Limits (non epic) that is equal to Improved Manifestation (epic).

Did someone get an "official" answer regarding EM from Monte Cook or for Trascend Limits from Bruce Cordell?
