As far as pdfs go, I like the feel of paper in my hand. Despite having a spiffy computer with a 19" monitor and DSL, I really don't care to read much digitally. I might referrence some things in an electronic format (I use the SRD all the time), but to really digest things or learn a new set of rules, I wouldn't dream of using my computer.
Likewise, I really don't think that computers have any business being at the gaming table. I use computers constantly for prep, but not during the game. I've tried that and found it frustrating and counter-productive. I can reasonably deduce that desktops are the least appropriate computer at the table, although my experience only applies to laptops and palms. Laptops are right out, and palms are too slow and the software too limited.
The new notebook (laptop sized palms with full-on PC hardware inside) show some promise, but I'm not inclined to spend $2000 for a gaming computer. Next time I look to get a laptop, though, the conversion is a feature I'd probably pay an extra $100 or so for.
