I'll move this to Software & computers.

Heya Henry, if you could, would you move this back to general? I was trying to get a general feel for the use of PDF products /computer products and the people visiting software and computers will probably bias the poll. Not that its terribly scientific to begin with....

Electronic products? Not for me thanks. I'm the type to do it all by hand and by dice. My books are nearly overladen with bookmarks and have been thoroughly marked by my graffiti of footnotes, highlights, errata, etc.

As far as pdfs go, I like the feel of paper in my hand. Despite having a spiffy computer with a 19" monitor and DSL, I really don't care to read much digitally. I might referrence some things in an electronic format (I use the SRD all the time), but to really digest things or learn a new set of rules, I wouldn't dream of using my computer.

Likewise, I really don't think that computers have any business being at the gaming table. I use computers constantly for prep, but not during the game. I've tried that and found it frustrating and counter-productive. I can reasonably deduce that desktops are the least appropriate computer at the table, although my experience only applies to laptops and palms. Laptops are right out, and palms are too slow and the software too limited.

The new notebook (laptop sized palms with full-on PC hardware inside) show some promise, but I'm not inclined to spend $2000 for a gaming computer. Next time I look to get a laptop, though, the conversion is a feature I'd probably pay an extra $100 or so for.

I used my desktop for years to prepare all my notes for adventures. I used to lug around pounds of paper composed of campaign notes (in case something from the past of the PCs comes up), self-made sourcebooks and NPC-files (Both often not up to date) and several printed sourcebooks.
Since a little bit over a month I have a notebook, and my paper has shrunk down to one or two sourcebooks and the latest adventure notes. All my campaign notes, NPCs etc. are kept on the notebook, allways up to date, easily searched, and less space consuming. I have access to the SRD as well, which cuts down on flipping through rulebooks, and to all my PDFs. That alone made buying the notebook worthwile.

Yeah, I agree I am not sure what you mean by EP. This could include:
PDFs or other downloaded electronic documents
ENWorld or any other website
Char manipulation Software
Map software
Other RPG specific software
MS Word or other document editor

All of them are EPs. Anything that is in electronic form that contains information concerning DnD that you use (or don't use) for gaming purposes.
