ELH from buy.com

OK, does anyone know how I can actually find a live person at buy.com? My order has been "Sent to Warehouse" for considerably longer than they claim it should, my e-mail asking where it is has gone unanswered considerably longer than they claim it should, and I have no idea what's going on with this order and if I'm going to get it or not.

On the bright side, it looks like my credit card wasn't charged for it yet, but all things considered, I'd rather have the book for $13 than not!

same here. i wouldn't panic just yet. in all honesty, it is probably on backorder for us due to the deluge. if i have to wait a little longer, so be it.

i'm not worried.........yet :)
 

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I'm a little worried, but it's hard for me to be actually angry at this point, since I'm still getting a $40 book at nearly half off.

On the other hand, I ordered at noon on the 22nd and paid extra for overnight shipping. That means I should have had it today. If it's not here by Monday, I will definitely not be happy. When I pay for "overnight" I want it "overnight".
 

I emailed the bastards as I ordered it at 10:00 a.m. on Monday and it still shows "Sent to Warehouse". I received the following reply:

Expounding on my last post a little...don't you just love how they lay it at the manufacturer? Not to mention the fact that their website is only update once every 24 hours?
 

that is why I always try to support the local gaming store.

Yeah- I would pay about $5 more per item, but it is worth it when you get to hang around and chat with him when you have an hour to kill, or he holds a book for you because he knows you want it, even though everywhere is sold out, or if you just aint gots nuttin better to do than to bug him.

I am not saying anything about online buyers- cause lord knows I would be one had it not been for the last LGS owner going out of business and cursing online buyers- i just feel that looking through a book and buying it on a whim is more important than saving thecouple bucks.

And with the shipping and iunsurance charges, you save almost nothing...

Hey, at least you could order the book. I tried and 'cause I live in Canada they told me I needed a minimum 500$ purchase. Absolutely useless. Buy.com has one less customer.

$5.00 per item? Wow, my FLGS charges full retail. So, $39.95 or $13.82 from buy.com? Don't get me wrong, I love my FLGS and I have spent literally hours in there just gabbing with George (the proprieter) and I buy most everything from there. But, I have decided to put my son through college before I put George's children through college...
 

I just received an (unprompted) e-mail from buy.com that they're "still looking", and that they have not billed my credit card, etc. I'm hardly mad at them; they're just backordered.
 

i have lost track, is this the 3rd elh/buy.com thread? we may need a "retail" thread, so it can be ignored like the other threads :D
