I believe I read somewhere that Elminster is immune to Temporal Stasis instead of Time Stop, as written in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. I don't remember where I read this and have searched all the errata I can find. Is this true? It seems it would be impossible or foolish to choose immunity to Time Stop, since it would mean you could never cast it (range: personal).
Hmmmm.....
That should be in the FRCS errata. Yes, Elminster is immune to temporal stasis.

"Spell fails". Or Elminster shares the time frame of the enemy wizard, and than, in one moment, there is Elminster and his enemy, and zero secons later, 3 Fireballs explode onto the enemy wizard, who had used his 1d4+1 rounds to watch surprised Elminster beeing able to act.

Umbran said:Not necessarily true. What rules the gods do, or don't, follow is entirely up to the individual DM. Deities and Demigods isn't a core book, you know.
