Is it now possible for publishers to release Epic modules with the new DMG and its new sections on levels beyond 20?

Epic modules are now very much possible since those mechanics have been released to the SRD. If you do plan to write an adventure, be careful to mention only epic feats included in the SRD since only a handful have been released as open game content so far. Right now there is plenty of room for 3rd party publishers to create new feats, epic level spells and epic prestige classes.

Careful. There are no epic spells or epic spell systems in the SRD.

Any word on when these things will be in the SRD? I was under the impression they are past due, but I may be mistaken. I guess with what is in there now you could jack NPCs up some, but not make them truly Epic, eh?

WotC doesn't have to release the material to the SRD at all if they don't want to. They have never made an official release time for anything into the SRD. Everytime they release something to the SRD it is really a bonus above and beyond what is necessary. Be patient. Be thankful.

I realize they are under no obligation, but if they wish to continue their strategy it makes sense for them to do so. Releasing epic into the SRD would mean third party Epic products which in turn leads to Epic Handbook sales. I believe that is what the whole SRD is about - generating WOTC book sales.

I guess I had just heard at one time the placement of the Epic stuff in the SRD was about to happen - that was what I was asking about. I meant past due in the sense of most people expected it to be there by now...

I am thankful for the SRD - it's the main reason I stay with D&D.

Technically, however, there is nothing stopping you from inventing your own epic-level spell system that is not based on the one in the ELH. For example, you could publish a book full of 10th-15th level spells and rules for preparing them and such.
