Female Mini's

Well I know what you mean about Some of the figures out there, they are definate eye candy or a car accident...

I also have to agree that Most of Reaper's feminine figures are Great!
Figs most women wouldn't be ashamed to use and figures you wouldn't seem like a "perv." because you have them.

The problem I have with female minis is that almost all of them have long, flowing hair. They all look like holdovers from an '80s hair band.

I would like to see some female minis with short hair. And not just some butch-looking pit fighter knock-off, but bards and rogues and sorceresses with short hair.

It may be a bit advanced, but a little work with some green stuff can easily fix any of your, "scantily-clad women" problems.

While male figs can get away with just cool equipment or a dramatic pose, women, even with cool equipment and a dramatic pose, can sell better with bigger boobs or exposed butt cheeks. Therefore, we get the chainmail bikini girl, rather than the armored female warrior with helmet.

The armor/helmet female just isn't going to sell as many copies. So, if you were a figure company, what would you do about it? Probably make more chainmail bikini babes. I'm sure if they start selling more regular-looking female figs, they'll make more, but it is happening slowly, if at all.

most of mine don't look that way either.

of my grenadier females boxed sets...

I'd have to second this recommendation. Grenadier minis by Julie Guthrie. Very well proportioned, fully clothed and armored female minis. The scale is 25mm, though, slightly smaller than the standard in recent years.

Check discounthobby.com or dragglestown.com

Some here.

Yeah!!!! And why do the men all have to be built like Arnold? I want large-bellied beer swilling men like in real life! Thats why I play a fantasy roleplaying game, to imitate real life.

Shadowdancer,
this one isn't too bad :Diedra Darkwillow
she's kinda "waify" but has a fairly moderate hair cut, granted there are many many more with long, non-combat style hair, but it is a step in the right direction.

Ds Da Man,
yeah reverse discrimination man!
This is a favorite figure of mine, Oswald the Overladen a true depiction of an Adventurer!
and how about a beer bellied demon

I agree that there isn't nearly enough variety in available female minis - very few plate-armoured female fighters (a common character type in D&D), never mind such as old crones, typical peasant women, or any nonhumans.
