Both my wife and the other woman in my Pathfinder Rise of the Runelords campaign are looking forward to converting to Fourth Edition at our next session in just under a week's time.

My wife is also so fond of the new game that she's talked me into running a solo game for her, with five PCs, after we tried out the Kobold Hall adventure from the Dungeon Master's Guide in that fashion. I think I'm going to use the H-series of adventures and convert them to Eberron for this game.

So, fellow women gamers, what do you think? And why, if we can talk about it without it turning into an edition war.

If I my speak for my wife, since she's not registered here...

It's the first time ever she's enjoyed playing a spellcaster.

She really enjoys the cooperative aspect of 4E tactics in combat.

Her one big complaint is that she's not too hot on the skill system... she rather enjoyed micromanaging skill points in 3E.

Finally, at first, she kept expecting certain powers and feats to work a certain way based on names they were given that were hold-overs from 3E... Cleave is a really good example. When they didn't work they she was expecting, she'd get frustrated and upset. Although she likes the way most of these powers work now, it took some time for her to get used to it -- She had to spend a couple sessions "unlearning" 3E rules.

Also, dealt with the Dragonborn females and breasts per the request of one of my male PCs playing a male Dragonborn. I ruled breasts out, and changed the Dragonborn reproduction to match more common reptile reproduction. He now gets to fertilize the eggs after the female lays them. :)

[pedant] That's amphibians, actually. Most reptiles fertilize the eggs internally; allows them to lay eggs that can survive on land. [/pedant]

Of course, maybe dragonborn are amphibians. The "Lizardmen" of the Warhammer world are. Or maybe they're technically "tuataraborn."

Then you're gaming with the wrong girls.

Oh no, the "females" I've met that play this game, I wouldn't be in the same room as…creepy.

Of course that is merely my experience; I'm sure there is one or two attractive woman out there that plays this bizarre game.

Well, actually there are creatures that lactate and lay eggs. So officially Dragonborn are part of the Monotremata class, I guess. Maybe the long extinct cousin of the platypus???
