I find it fascinating that UPN cancelled Enterprise, when, according to this, it was the 13th highest show on UPN, and didn't lose viewers as fast as... say... UPN's more-advertised "America's Next Top Model," though 2.3 million is quite bad for something that started at 13 million.

Also glad that "Arrested Development" will be coming back for another year.

Well, Veronica Mars just got cancelled for next year, along with some other favorites at CBS. They are trying to revamp their schedule for a younger audience. Apparantly they have the market on the older age group, but advertisers pay alot less for that group.

Kind of sad really..

As for the list, I think the biggest surprise is how much trouble NBC is in. Although they made it at #9 with Grey's Anatomy, this is incorrect -- the show is on ABC, not NBC.

NBC doens't even show up until the Apprentice 2 at #13.

I always hated NBC for their "must see tv" ad, and their horrible "If you haven't seen it, it's new to you". And, well, I really can't stand "Friends".

As for Enterprise, I think the problem is far different that what people believe. The other star trek shows were run in new syndication, with individual stations picking it up. With Enterprise, it is on UPN... period. Which means now their ratings are compared with every other regularly scheduled show. A syndicated series like Accapoco Heat or Andromeda was never meant to go head to head with Gilmore Girls or Friends.

Whereas before, Next Generation or DS9 or Babylon 5 were only compared with other syndicated shows (ie V.I.P., Baywatch, Mutant X, etc).

I think it is a mistake to have any star trek show on major network as serious competator with othershows. If DS9 was put on the same schedule of Enterprise, that too would have faltered (in my opinion, DS9 sucked anyway).

Do you what is even sadder...in the last few weeks, from Loving Raymond and several other shows. Have ended with viewership in the millions...like 30+ with the minumum fo 29 million. Sci Fic shows will never, ever, get that kind of numbers or respect *and DON"T go ranting on this statement either*

I know the deal, but it would have been nice, to see something like that...one day *sigh* :\

Or because UPN wants to change their image and focus on an urban female audience. Which is why they are screwing over one of their top two highest ranked shows.
