Firefly ain't coming back

FYI-
Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal) has signed a deal with ABC to star in an undetermined new show. Contracts for the rest of the cast have also expired, and they will almost certainly be finding other work soon.

This means that Firefly is not going to resume production anytime soon, although there is still the possibility of a DVD release or movies at some point.

:( I liked this show!

last week I caught a rerun of "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" ... I then recognized Mal!!

VHS, VCD and DVD copies of the Firefly episodes which did air keep showing up on e-Bay. The DVD sets usually sell for $80-$100.

Man, Fox really screwed up by cancelling this show so quickly.

The price a few hardcore fans will pay for bootleg copies does not at all signify that the show would have turned a profit.

Yeah, but they're all bootleg copies. Mutant Enemy has promised to fight for a real DVD release, so I'd rather wait and give my money to the artists. Not to mention that the official DVDs are likely to be better quality and have some extra goodies.

No argument there. The ways in which Fox screwed up Firefly are numerous and infuriating.

<sigh>

Hey, I'm still tweaked that Fox cancelled Space: Above and Beyond.

I would agree with that. I only got into the show near the end, but I liked what I saw.

It is the sad nature of these shows that I would imagine they cost more then their non-sci-fi competion, but don't generate the rating to be worth the investment of resources and time.

Prior to that sitcom, he portrayed "Joey Buchanan" on ABC's soap opera One Life to Live.

Gotta get rid of the useless knowledge out of my head. :(

Hopefully those who helped bring about the end of this, one of the finest of tv shows, will suffer an eternity of damnation in the Hell of Big Brother Re-Runs.
