Flaming in a review?

I'm not sure what if anything you want to do about this, but Archer's latest review pretty indignantly flames the reviewers who dared to rate the product higher than him, and blatantly accuses the other reviewers of dishonesty.

Edit:
In a comment, he insists on slandering the other reviewers as dishonest for daring to disagree with him. I request that his review of "Librum Equitis" be yanked. This sort of behavior would be inexcusable in a thread.

Just read it.

I'd say give Archer the chance to edit his review and nix two sentences:
"I was deceived into buying this by misleading reviews"
and the final sentence.

The "if you voted higher than three, shame on you", I would let go because it could fit into such a bad review, and be directed at the product rather than the reviewers.

The other two are, frankly, not tolerable. A review is meant to discuss the product, not colleagues. He should review "d20Reviews.com" then ;)

Once the new review system is running, I'm gonna alter the review policy a bit. I would like to give Psion and Simon 'moderator' powers on the reviews section (the new system allows this) if they are willing.

As the (temporarily crippled) author of the target of said review, I just think that the review should be edited to be non-offensive to the other reviewers.

(Wishing I could say more... but typing takes forever with my broken wrist)

I think he might have gone too far with the line "Do you work for the company or something and are trying to improve sales by lying to people?" , but stating that he feels the other reviews are misleading seems like a valid criticism to me. I know I've felt like that.

And he does explain why in his view he feels the product isn't very good.

I'll be making it clear soon that each review is a single entity in its own right, and that the reviews page is NOT a discussion forum where one addresses other reviews or comment on them.

The 'moderation' policy will involve deletion of reviews which do this.

I have no problem with that at all.

I'd be glad to see it as well.

I felt it was uncalled for to get into ad hominem in a review.

State you disagree: Fine.

State you don't know how everyone else could rate it higher: Fine.

State that the people that rated it higher are liars: Not fine.
