I'm having an idea for a campaign (set in Faerun because just easier) that I am attempting to write where a LG monk is guarding a relic imbued with the spirit of a dead god/demigod - which turns out to be perhaps not quite as dead as previously thought.
Continued exposure to said relic influences the monk so his personality splits 2 for 1 - the LG monk is unaware of the split, and merely begins to notice episodes of blackouts and lost time; the split personality is LE, has slightly different stats, can understand language commonly used by said deity, and basically is now driven to returning deity to power, while remaining undetected as long as possible by rest of party.
What I need is a deity. Not concerned about by-the-book so much, as am happy to flex the rules to fit the story. But I'm drawing a blank and can't really discuss this with any of my D&D playing friends as they're all the players :/
Any ideas?
