History: Hullen is the third son in the small noble family from the Northfalia area. He was born under the sign of Turros, the Tower, on the second Charday of Heder. His father was a skilled man but thought at least one of his sons should have knowledge of the arcane arts. He was sent to the Vault at an early age where his aptitude for magic was considered quite good, but not exceptional. Hullen trained with the mages there, until his mastery of the spells was average. A man of great faith, Hullen's nature led him to learn from the Blessed Cabalists (as those who learn of the gods of good are called) as well as from the Hedradan Cabalists. After a time, his father recalled him to help with his lands. Hullen, though not terrible interested in politics or regional disputes, was a dutiful son and returned. He advised his father and older brother for a time, and also went out among the children, showing of a few spells. He also managed to find an exceptionally talented young boy. He was later sent off to the Vault, to be trained. The Vault then declared that Hullen's new assignment was tracking as well as finding new mages among the common people of Darakeene. Hullen readily accepted the job, feeling confident this was part of his calling. Hullen wanders the land of Darakeene, looking out for new mages (mostly those that might be trouble) as well as helping those that might have the talent/aptitude but have no way of learning much. Currently he's on assignment in the Wexland province, but he does maintain a small residence in Meliad's Southgate Reach district.
Appearance/Personality: Not a very remarkable looking man, Hullen does have a distinguishing mark on his right hand, a small 7 pointed star shaped scar. His dull brown hair fall around his ears, while his watery blue eyes seem to show a weak character, but really it's part of his way of disarming people. Hullen is a very non-confrontational type. While he's motivated to do good Hullen is also interested in expanding arcane knowledge as best he can. He's a very retiring sort, not much for combat or adventure. He prefers to be comfortable, and thus tends to live beyond his means. He also, some times on a whim, will hire out adventurers to help him with specifics tasks. One of his dreams is be an instructor in the Vault. He does miss his family, but mostly his two younger siblings. His sister Marian is to be betrothed to a smarmy, man who is much older than she is. This is a marriage of convenience as his family is one of both influence and wealth. He dotes on her, often sending her little gifts when he can. His younger brother, Silam, is considering life in the military colleges. Hullen worries that perhaps with the growing conflicts, Silam might be called on to serve or perhaps join on of the mercenary companies and end up dying in some distant land. Thus he often tries to find a strong fatherly type to help him with his brother.
