Grackle looks up at Harrison dubiously. He seems about ready to cry, twitching a bit.
Harrison sooks into the two pools of sorrow growing on th face of the gnome and starts to stutter, "er uh uh uh , GGGGrackle, uh ttthat was a oke. i was only kidding around. I am sorry... '

He looks to the others for help, not really expecting to find any."

Jillian finds no trap from without, but going down into the pit might reveal something. Zorn discovers that the only magic in the corridor is carried by his companions. Fin's chair toss initially produces no result and then as it clatters to the last 10' or so of the pit all the spikes project forward with great speed and force. The poor chair never had a chance. The spikes immediately reset back to the former length. The rogues of the group quickly deduce that any weight applied to the floor on the final 10' of the pit will lead to projected spikes.

Jillian Tealeaf, Rogue9, AC25,FF19,T17, HP37/37, F+4,R+13,W+5

Jillian goes about trying to disarm the trap. She will climb down into the pit and move forward while still checking for traps. She will then attempt to disarm any traps she finds including the one that has already been found.

Logan Lightbringer, Cleric9, AC28,FF27T17,HP75/76, DR3/-, F+9,R+4,W+11

Logan will go and comfort Grackle. "There, there, Grackle. Harrison didn't mean to insult or frighten you. He's just pathological that way. You see, a gnome frightened his mother when she was very, very pregnant with him. It was just a birthday prank, but she still never fully recovered, I'm afraid. And poor Harrison, well, he never really had a chance now, did he, the poor, confounded, retarded blighter!"

The tension is palpable in the air as Jillian climbs down into the obviously deadly trap. After making her way across slowly and deliberately, she pauses 20' or so in and inspects a spot on the floor for some time. Finally she picks up a piece of the misused chair and jams it under a flagstone. Then she skips lightly across the floor to the other side. There is a groan of machinery and a clicking sound from one of the spikes that summons a startled gasp from at least one member of the group. She swings up using the extended spikes like a ladder and is soon standing on the far side of the deadly trap. She notes that the passage seems to continue eastward for 90' beyond the pit before ending in an apparent dead end. Despite the misgivings of some it proves perfectly safe to cross the pit now.

Garagos, AC 29 (T19, FF27), HP 107/107, DR 3/-, F +11,R+6,W+10

"Gad work girl!" Garagos grumbles in acknowledgment as the pit is save to cross now.

"she's crazy, you know. absolutely certifiably crazy. " says Harrison as he watches jillian dance her way accross the deadly trap.

"uh Logan, what do you mean by Path-ill-logical?"

Jillian Tealeaf, Rogue9, AC25,FF19,T17, HP37/37, F+4,R+13,W+5

Seeing the apparent dead end, Jillian decides to start meticulously seaching the hallway for any signs of secret or concealed doors, or anything else out of the ordinary.
