Logan adds, "A wizard could even perhaps send an Arcane Eye through the archway to give us a view of the other side."

"But if we ain't got a wizard capable of doing that, then it ain't fer nothing. It's like saying 'If Tenser was here he'd help us out'. Fin says with a bit of anger in his voice, he always hating being unprepared.

"Were there any traps on the arch?" Fin says to the other trapfinder.

"You can be as surly as you wish, Sir, but if Tenser WAS here with us, I have every confidence that he would know just what to do!" :p "Actually, I only mentioned the spell Arcane Eye to hopefully serve as a reminder for our wizards who, perhaps, didn't think of it first."

Jillian Tealeaf, Rogue9, AC27,FF21,T19, HP32/37, F+4,R+13,W+5

Jillian shakes her head at Fin. "I never checked it. I'm more interested in the hydra with the black sphere. The riddle at the beginning stated, 'night’s good color is for those of great valor'. I believe that it is referring to black." Jillian then moves to the hydra and black sphere and searches for traps. Should she find any then she will attempt to disarm them. Should she find none, she will prod the sphere hoping for another illusionary wall or some such.

Jillian's logic proves sound. While their are no traps she does find the black sphere to be illusory. Beyond is the longest of the little tunnels yet found. It curves before descending to pass under the hall of spheres. After more curves your best guess is that you are south of and slightly below the hall with the painted spheres. The tunnel seems to come to a dead end, but Jillian quickly finds and opens the secret door. It leads into the largest chamber you've yet discovered. You are entering from the north at the north east corner of a 70' by 70' square room. Your darkvision and light sources give you only a limited view of the south end of the room. Chapel accouterments fill this chamber, including great wooden pews on either side of a central mosaic path that leads toward an altar on the far side of the room, which is separated from the pews by a wooden railing. Scenes of everyday life are painted on the walls, but all the people are portrayed with rotting flesh, skeletal hands, and worm-ridden orifices. Yet depicted amidst these disturbing portraits are various symbols of readily recognized benevolent deities.

"Pelor's Punctual Purity! This is a most disturbing sight, indeed. (And a most disturbing site as well!)" Logan quickly makes the Sign of the Sun on his breast and forehead.

"gulp!"

Harrison also makes a sign of the sun over his heart. A room this large is staryting to make him nervious, so he changes out his longsword and shield for his long bow.

Jillian pulls her everburning torch from her pack and begins slowly creeping into the room, while searching for traps as she goes.

OOC: Taking 20 on search checks for 34.
