Forked Thread: Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5 Continued

Logan Lightbringer, Cleric9, AC28,FF27T17,HP75/76, DR3/-, F+9,R+4,W+11

Leaning against the doorway into the room where the secret door was found, Logan watches the activities of the roguish party members and silently thanks Pelor that he does not share their job.

Whatever horror you might have been expecting beyond the secret door aside, the reality is a rather mundane twenty foot stretch of ten foot wide corridor. A stair descends to the left (south) from the latter half of the corridor. The stairs decend some 20' and another corridor begins at the bottom going left (east).

OOC: Abandoning the lab to continue on?

Logan Lightbringer, Cleric9, AC28,FF27T17,HP75/76, DR3/-, F+9,R+4,W+11

Seeing the new route opened before the party, Logan rouses himself and prepares to take his place in the procession further into the tomb.

As the group heads down the new passageway, Grackle glances around at the old laboratory and thinks for just a second. Then his curiousity gets the better of him and he sneaks over, snatches the mummified hand, and shoves it into his haversack, then heads back over to his place at the far back of the group. He thinks it'll be great for practical jokes later and freaking people out! The gnome is somewhat disappointed not to see anything really shiny around, so he follows the others with just this one little token.

Fin is not so quick to leave the room. Despite not liking arcane casters, they usually kept all sorts of useful stuff around. Fin will look for something large and blunt to throw at the lefternmost vat.

Ballista stays the rogues destructive hand a moment. "Won't that cause some kind of explosion? I only mention it because we are quite a ways underground and that could cave in our only way back to the entrance." She pats him on the shoulder with a consoling look. "I don't really fancy the idea of becoming a permenant resident of this tomb. Perhaps theres a more...subtle way to disable this alchemical monstrosity?"

There is very little left in this room that is magical. A few jars and pots radiate very weak magic indicating that they probably contained magical components at one time. The mummified hand has a weak magical aura. Two of the three vats have something magical inside them. It is difficult to tell if it is the liquid or something within the liquid. Zorn answers.

The type of magic previously used in this area is very dangerous. We must be very cautious.

Jillian Tealeaf, Rogue9, AC25,FF19,T17, HP37/37, F+4,R+13,W+5

After opening the secret door and then hearing people still interested in the room, Jillian moves back into the it. "Well then! Can the vats be turned over? That way whatever is inside can just pour out."

Fin is not so quick to leave the room. Despite not liking arcane casters, they usually kept all sorts of useful stuff around. Fin will look for something large and blunt to throw at the lefternmost vat.

OOC: I'm going to assume that lefternmost=westernmost...

Finding an orc skull, Fin tosses it into the vat closest to the secret door. It splashes into what appears to be dirty water without further incident.

(The other two vats are the ones that had something magical at the bottom.)
