Before Zorn can do more than begin his hand waving, the little Gnome has successfully removed the crown. He is given the knowledge that using the other end of the scepter would have snuffed out his grubby existence.

OOC: Save your spell, you might need it later.

Oblivious to the Gnomes very near death experience, Jillian discovers the first room she searches contains only dust, whatever might have once been here is long gone. She can add nothing new to the examination of the sarcophagus, but has the sense that disturbing the mummy's treasure might not be a good idea.

She enters the middle room to continue her search and discovers that the wall hangings are in fact constructs that leap to the attack. The shields surge toward her swords swinging. The first rank of four attacks (1d20+9=26, 1d20+9=22, 1d20+9=24, 1d20+9=13) surprising her, but with deft moves, she avoids all but one of the blades (1d8+6=11).

OOC: Roll initiative!
constructs initiative (1d20=11)

The constructs are AC16 remember as you plan you actions most of the party is either across the big room or in the chamber of the sarcophagus.

Logan Lightbringer

Logan goes to just outside the door into the room where the shields and things are attacking Jillian and casts Dispel Magic into the room, targeting the room as a whole, figuring that there is just one spell or magical effect causing the animation.

"Sword and shield, be ye still,
Lie ye down and work no ill."

Logan's init (1d20+1=6)

Logan's init (1d20+1=6)

Logan sees that these are not mere animations of objects, but actual constructs more akin to Golems or Clockwork Horrors. A simple dispel magic is not going to stop them.

OOC: Though the rhyme was a nice touch!

Logan Lightbringer

Logan says, "Drat! These appear to be the creation of a very devious wizardly mind. They are not merely weapons animated by a 'conventional' spell, if such can ever be said to be conventional. I fear that my prayer of dispelling is powerless against them."
