Forsaker needs to go Plane hopping

rec1966

First Post
My DM revealed this week that our party is going to need to plane hop to complete the quest that we are on. I am playing a 3/10 Fighter/Forsaker. Our party is going to try the A-Team method for getting my char to the destinations. I am looking for other means of doing this and/or ways to improve the chances of the spells succeeding.

honestly, rec1966, i can't think of any way to change planes without a Forsaker suffering the penalties for using magic without special permission from your DM.

any creature with Spell Resistance is allowed to voluntarily lower it's SR, but you're still going to be 'benefiting' from magic and lose your abilities for a week.

Magical portals. Your not actually welding the item, all your doing is walking through it. Might be a big stretch but it's the best I can think of.

Edit: Now, if the portal is actually part of the conversion van, your DM has to allow it.

You just need to find yourself a naturally-occurring portal between planes. How hard could it be? They seem to show up in modules all the time!

the only problem: a magic portal is defined as a 'permanent magic item'. by using the item (i.e. walking through it) you're violating the Forsaker's 'forsake magic' requirement...

KO him and shuffle him through. Lie to him. Take your rogue with the high bluff, and have it oppossed by the Forsakers Sense motive (which probalby has zero ranks).

"any forsaker who unwittingly uses a magic item or casts a spell...loses all the special abilities of the class for one week"

key word: 'unwittingly'

nice try Crothian. :D i still think rec1966 should ask his DM about it

rogue: "it's a natural portal. yeah, that's it! that's the ticket!"

What levels are the characters? An ironic solution would be to use wish or miracle to allow the character to get to the plane with no side effects.

Edit: However, I suggest bribing the DM to over look this. Call it a plot hole and give him a 20.
