FR 3.5 Silverymoon - OOC

For your approval, Enalia Astariat. I'm not very good at the mechanics creating characters, so there might be some mistakes.

...

I will take a look at your character and let you know what, if any, problems there are.

Let me know what kind of elf you are. In FR, you have the choice of many...moon, wood, sun, etc.

Since she probably doesn't know...

High Elf = Moon Elf
Gray Elf = Sun Elf (roughly)
Wood Elf = well... Wood Elf :D

Oops, oh yeah. :) Thanks. I'm actually planning on picking up the FR sourcebook after work, so I'll have more info then. If ya'll can wait that long, great. If not, what do you think would be the best, given the campaign and my background?

BTW, "he" is a "she." ;)

Moon Elf is the most likely of choice as they are the highest concentration in the area, but if you want to play a different elf, by all means do so.

As for 'he' and 'she', my apologies if I referred to you with the wrong gender. The Forum names are not very indicative of this and are hard to decipher at times :-)

If there was any doubt, I am a 'he', though not an actual polar bear.

My comment was more to Thanee than anyone else, though I suppose what with the possible confusion, it could be to everyone. There is always doubt, particularly since people, in my experience, don't necessarily play characters their own gender, and it's almost always impossible to tell with GM's. :)

As for the polar bear, I was kind of thinking you were . . .

I'll be a Moon Elf for now, but like I said, I hope to pick up the FR book today, so I'll let you know.

I hear you. No worries, as long as we have it straight now. :)

I should also mention there are Wild Elves in Faerun, so you may want to consider that race as well. As you say, I will wait until you pick up the book.

Description: Aram is 5’10’’ and 165 lbs. Like most half-elves he has green eyes, but his hair, which is kept short, is blonde like his human mother’s. Aram’s partly elven heritage can be clearly seen and many consider him a rather handsome young man. His movements are smooth and definately have some elven grace. He has quick wits and friendly manners with a good and kind heart so it’s no wonder he’s always been liked by most people. The years in monk training have made him polite and hard-working, although he is still unusually out-going for a monk. The monk order he belongs to is everything to him and he is completely loyal to his order. Having lived among humans all his life (he is 22) Aram has little knowledge about the elven way of life, but sometimes, in a strange way, he feels like he’s a complete stranger even among his fellow monks.

Background: Aram is the offspring of a human noblewoman and an elven man, whose identity is unknown to him. His mother, Lady Anera Castorean, never told him much about his father, because the whole affair was – and still is – shameful to the Castorean family. Lord Reynard Castorean, Aram’s stepfather, loathes the bastard child and made sure Aram would be out of his sight by arranging the boy to be sent to a monastery in Silverymoon, which is far from Cormyr, the home of the Castorean family. Lord Reynard would probably have killed the boy if his mother would not have resisted so much. The reason for such hatred is a mystery, that Aram would like solve one day. Lady Anera has visited Aram in Silverymoon a couple of times, but has always refused to tell him more about his past only saying it is best, that some things are better left alone.

The monastic order of Mystra in Silverymoon quickly found out Aram’s talents and he has been used mostly as an assistant in diplomatic affairs since he completed his initiation to the order. The training at the monastery also included a well-rounded education.

Ok, so I'm $110 poorer and 5 source books richer, but none of that counts the FR campaign setting. I did manage to pick up the Underdark accessory, but no main book. :( Therefore, I have no idea what type of elf I would be, and if there is a certain type that would be useful either to the GM or another player, I'm up for anything. I also don't know what my regional gear, etc., would be, since I don't have the book, much less a region. :)
